My Why

God. God is my why.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" Jeremiah 1:5

My entire life I have had a strong faith, but it wasn't until 2000 when my walls came crashing down  and I was face to face with a choice. It wasn't a choice that I consciously made, but it was one that I was led to. I didn't know it was happening until it was over, but looking back it was He who carried me through it all.


"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13


In 2000 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. OUT OF NOWHERE. I went in for an MRI for a chronic neck issue and the next thing I knew I was discussing brain surgery. I would like to tell the whole story, but, truthfully, I don't remember much of the experience because I went into auto-pilot mode. After the surgery, I was different. I was the same Tera, but the experience put everything in perspective. My family, my friends, my then fiance - all of the things that really mattered the most to me - were almost taken from me and I was blessed to get another chance. God gave me that chance. Again, this wasn't a decision that I made.....it was a choice I was given in the form of a gift. The gift of His grace was left on my heart and I accepted it completely.
